  • Why did you want to become a fractional CFO?

To make a significant impact on multiple businesses by leading their effort to grow and become more profitable.  I have always achieved the most fulfillment in my career mentoring each member of my Finance & Accounting teams while being a strong leader within the Senior Leadership Team to grow the business profitably.

  • What industries are you focused on?

Marketing/Advertising, Consulting, System Implementation (SI), and Software/SaaS industries.

  • Why do you enjoy the industries you focus on and why do you bring value in those industries?

I enjoy the professional services and technology industries because of their focus on customer service and constant improvement.  These are two of the most important areas of a business because of their forward-looking proactive nature.  My strategic ability to locate, problem solve for and execute on opportunities for improvement, continually adds value to companies I work with.

  • What are common challenges that you see in business?

A challenge that I commonly see is when companies don’t understand the key metrics that are vital to their bottom line.  These actionable metrics aligned with the proper incentives will get the company aligned and quickly rowing toward their goals.  Another challenge that I see with companies both at the individual level and overall, is that they do things the way they have always done them.  There’s always room for constant improvement for those open to it and doing this will create efficiencies, improve margins, and add value.

  • What other insights can you share that you’ve learned through your work experience?

Change is constant. The more we can embrace it and guide our teams through it with actionable data and good communication, the better we are able to ride this ever-present wave to our goals.

Coffee is a must every day!

  • What is your favorite lunch spot in Kansas City?

Café Vie is a great spot for lunch.
